Ryan Dimit, OD attended the University of Nevada, Reno before receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science from Pacific University in Forest Grove, OR. He went on to complete his Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University as well. During his time at Pacific he made multiple humanitarian trips to Guatemala and Honduras to provide care to native populations without access to healthcare. He was also a member of the Beta Sigma Honor Society. After graduation he completed a one year Fellowship in Cornea and Contact Lens at the University of Houston.
After completing the Fellowship, he joined the faculty at the University of Houston, College of Optometry. He spent 2 years as a faculty member educating students and conducting research in contact lenses.
After leaving UH he moved on to Baylor College of Medicine where he fit complex and complicated eyes with specialty contact lenses and the BostonSight PROSE device. During his five years at Baylor he fit and treated a variety of ocular diseases such as dry eye, Steven-Johnson’s Syndrome and Keratoconus.
Dr. Dimit is a therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist. He practices full scope optometry and enjoys fitting complicated eyes with contact lenses. He looks forward to helping the many patients of Houston Eye Associates.
